Certificate in Applied Statistics (CAS)

The Certificate in Applied Statistics (CAS) programme offered by the Institute of Applied Statistics Sri Lanka (IASSL) is designed to introduce the core principles and theories of Probability and Statistics, providing students with a strong foundation in statistical concepts. The programme emphasizes practical applications, enabling students to confidently apply statistical methods to real-world scenarios.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to the Certificate in Applied Statistics programme, a candidate should fulfill one of the following requirements:

• Six (06) passes at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination (Sri Lanka / UK), including at least a “C” pass for Mathematics and English; or
• Students who are awaiting their G.C.E. (O/L) results may apply without submitting the results sheet at the time of application; or
• Any other equivalent qualification acceptable to the IASSL Executive Council.

Important Notice

• Providing the G.C.E. (O/L) index number in the application form is compulsory.
• The final certificate for programme completion will be issued only after submission of the G.C.E. (O/L) results sheet confirming at least a “C” pass for Mathematics and English.
