The Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka (IASSL) is organizing the 12th National Statistics Olympiad, a FREE national-level academic competition open to eligible school and university students across Sri Lanka. The Olympiad is designed to encourage statistical literacy, analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and data-based problem solving, while giving young learners an opportunity to test and develop their skills in statistics and probability at no cost to participants.

Ministry-Approved National Competition
The National Statistics Olympiad 2026 organized by the Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.

Junior Category
- Students in Grades 9–11
- Candidates must be 17 years of age or below as at 31 December 2026
Senior Category
- Students in Grades 12–13
- First-year undergraduate students are also eligible
- Candidates must be 21 years of age or below as at 31 December 2026

Applications must be certified by the appropriate authority:
