Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka (IASSL)

The Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka (IASSL) was incorporated by the Parliament of Sri Lanka on 20th September 2011 under the Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Act No. 38 of 2011. It succeeds the former Applied Statistics Association, Sri Lanka (ASASL), established in 1999. IASSL is a proud member of the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA) of Sri Lanka.

Objectives of the Institute

• Promote and assist the advancement of Applied Statistics for research, development, education, training, and extension.
• Undertake and collaborate in the preparation, publication, and dissemination of information pertaining to Applied Statistics through seminars, lecture series, and the "Sri Lankan Journal of Applied Statistics."
• Conduct research in Statistics to improve experimental techniques, statistical methods, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as national and international institutes, to promote research, development, education, training, and extension in statistics.
• Promote the professional interests of the members of the Institute.
